And we have closed the travel route loop that began in April of this year - I don't even KNOW how many miles that is! We are in Gold Beach, Oregon workkamping at Turtle Rock RV Resort until next April.

We're on our way back to the lower 48 after spending the summer in Fairbanks. We'll be 'closing the loop' by stopping Colorado Springs for a few days and then heading west (again) to Oregon and Gold Beach for the winter.

Way up north in the Yukon Territory we are less than 500 miles from Fairbanks, Alaska. At this point we are planning to arrive there next Wednesday, June 1 - right on schedule.

We've made it into Canada! Tonight we are in Clinton, British Columbia - beautiful scenery today as we went from lush, green vegetation to dry, high desert & brown!

We've worked our way up the coast of Oregon and will be crossing into Washington tomorrow.

Yikes!! It's a long way to Alaska!!
This new map shows our route as we begin our 2nd year of living full-time on the road. (You can see our route for the first 12 months on the map at the bottom of this page.) We left Colorado Springs on April 8 this year and we are planning to arrive in Fairbanks, AK by June 1st. That little red star on the map shows where we are today - I'll move it as we travel so you can laugh at how slowly we meander around. :-) I don't know what to expect as far as having internet access as we get into Canada and eastern Alaska, so be patient if we appear to be stuck somewhere!

We left Colorado Springs in April 2010 and headed south and west to California to begin our loop around the US. We closed the loop back in Colorado Springs in March 2011.
