Welcome to Daley Travels!  This website is our way of sharing the who, what, where, when & why of our full-time life-on-the-road adventures.  You can check our (hopefully frequent) posts by clicking this link: Updates from the road or navigate the website using the links at the top of the page.

As with most websites, this one will be constantly evolving as we update the blog portion (Updates from the road), upload pictures and share tips, tricks & resources that we've discovered along the way.  Hopefully you'll find it fun & interesting to check in periodically and see what we've been up to - even if you don't know us personally.

We are a family of 3 - Mike, Pam & teen Sarah.  We were lucky enough to retire in January 2007 and after a medical detour we hit the road full-time in April 2010.  We found a Class C motorhome that didn't require a house-sized mortgage, sold/gave away the majority of our household 'stuff', put the rest in a small storage in Colorado Springs and jumped into this lifestyle with both feet!

Autumn 2011 finds us headed to Gold Beach, Oregon after spending the summer in Fairbanks, Alaska with our oldest daughter and 2 grandsons (+ 1 more due January 2012!) while our son-in-law is deployed to Afghanistan.

                                      The rest of the story...

We originally began this website in 2007 shortly after Mike retired.  Even though we weren't able to make the leap to full-time RVing until April 2010, we did a lot of moving around in between anyway.  We took 2 (3?) cross-country trips with our old travel trailer; and moved from Huntington Beach, CA to Phenix City, AL to Colorado Springs, CO.  Along the way our original website became really cluttered and cumbersome to navigate.  Our webmaster (that would be me - Pam) became increasingly frustrated trying to redo the original site so she basically just started over.  Which is what you see here.

But we also don't want to delete that old website - there are tons of pictures and blog posts over there that we don't want to lose.  The long term project is to move that information to this website - somehow - and archive it here so that everything will be in one place.  That's quite a big job though; so in the meantime the old site is still accessible.  If you find yourself bored with nothing productive to do, you could probably waste a bit of time over there reading about some of the crazy things we've done and the places we've visited.  Click this line and you'll be whooshed right over there.
